Manager - Aloha Tournaments
Colby Wehner was named the Manager of Aloha Tournaments and Breakers Lacrosse Club in March of 2021.
Prior to arriving at Aloha Tournaments and Breakers Lacrosse Club, Wehner worked at Rider University as the Coordinator of Athletic Events and Equipment Room Manager. At Rider, Wehner managed all athletic events from operations to management of staff and event oversight. In his role as Equipment Manager, Wehner ordered and tracked all Adidas orders for the Athletic Department.
Prior to working at Rider University, he served as the MAAC Director of Champions for two years.
In his first year as a Director, Wehner was responsible for the planning and conducting of conference championships including, but not limited to, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, water polo, and women’s lacrosse. In his role as Director of Championships, Wehner handles the development of schedules, coordinates league and coaches’ meetings, and oversees the development of awards for all sports.
Wehner was also an Assistant Regatta Director for the 2017 NCAA Women’s Rowing National Championship at Mercer Country Park in NJ. Wehner served as one of the MAAC liaisons for the championship attending and coordinating meetings with the NCAA, the Ivy League, Mercy County park officials and other parties involved in the event. Primarily, Wehner was the coordinator of student-athlete hospitality and team registration/packet pickup at the championship.
Wehner also assisted in basketball operations for the MAAC, working in a wide array of roles at the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship, the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun and the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Buffalo, NY. At the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship, he primarily served as the practice and film coordinator and had a similar role of on-site practice coordinator at the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds. During the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun, Wehner was the Marketing Coordinator where he handled on-court contests and assisted in operations.
Wehner began his career at the MAAC as an Administrative Fellow during the 2015-16 academic year, where he served primarily as a media contact for cross country, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and outdoor track and field. As an Administrative Fellow, a majority of his role focused in championship/special events coordination, as well as video production for MAAC.TV.
Wehner has also attended professional development events such as 2015 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and the 2016 NCAA Career in Sports Forum.
Wehner has volunteered in many sport-related events including the 2016 Atlantic-10 Men’s Basketball Championship, 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, 2016 NCAA Women’s Bowling National Championship in North Brunswick, NJ and the Special Olympics of NJ.
A native of Rochester, NY, Wehner is a 2015 graduate of Canisius College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in English and was a four-year member of the Golden Griffins Men’s Lacrosse team. While working at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as an Administrative Fellow, he went on to obtain his master’s degree in Sport Management from Canisius College in 2016.
